My Danish webcomic - "Helvede er de andre"
Some artists paint on a physical canvas; I prefer a digital one
I do custom digital paintings for clients both big and small.
I also work on my own projects from time to time, and am the co-author of a children's book.
I am also the mother of Saga
(b. 2018) and often use her as a motif for testing out ideas. She also experiments with digital art - which her mom of course loves!
WORK EXAMPLE:
MAP OF AFRICA
I was asked to create a digital painting of the continent of Africa as a gift for a client, who wanted to give it as a gift for a colleague, who was leaving.
I have worked for multinational giants and for private individuals
Naturally, most of the work for bigger clients is heavily NDA'ed, and not available for public display - but that doesn't make the work any less interesting!
I am equally happy working for small companies as for big ones. For me, the important thing is that I can use my art to help someone tell their story.
WORK EXAMPLE:
OLD TRAM CAR
The client wanted me to create a picture of an old Copenhagen cable car, to use as part of a Christmas gift. Researching this was quite fun, as I love trains.
I use a technique called
Intuitive Surface Tracing
Simply put, an artist using IST converts a photograph to a digital painting by “sensing the surfaces” and assigning colour and shape to them. Most of my work uses IST.
One of the advantages to using Intuitive Surface Tracing is that I can show off half-finished work; something I've found that most clients really appreciate!
